Reef

Meet Reef, one of the “SunSational Seven” breeder rescue pups. Being a bit timid and shy, Reef is understandably confused by all the changes he has faced. Just imagine his world where everything is new and different. It can be overwhelming. Don’t worry Reef, your life is changing for the better.

Since sweet Reef is deaf, he can be easily spooked. With the help of his loving foster family, he is slowly coming out of his shell and growing stronger and more confident. The good news is that adorable Reef has had many firsts. He cautiously greets older children and is rewarded with being petted, which he enjoys. Reef is also trying to figure out what to do with toys. Time will tell. Reef can be picked up, tolerates taking his meds and does well at vet appointments. Baby steps, but progress.

Sweet Reef has no teeth, but he is a good eater which has helped him gain some weight. He does prefer to sleep in a crate, but near his humans. He will settle in and sleep through the night. Ah, the comforts of home. Dear little Reef might be a bit rough around the edges, but with time, love and kindness this cutest Blenheim boy will blossom. 

🐶 Age: 11 years young.

👍🏻 Weight: 14 lbs. but needs to gain a few more.

🐾 Circumstances: One of the “SunSational Seven” breeder rescue pups.

❤️ Health: Reef has been fully vetted and is being treated for common issues found in breeder surrenders including skin, ear and eye issues. He will be neutered and has a Grade 5/6 heart murmur.

CRF microchips all rescues.

🏡 Forever Home Requirements:

✔️ A calm household where someone is home most of the time.

✔️ Another friendly but confident companion to provide mentorship and guidance.

✔️ Experience with deaf or hearing-impaired dogs.

✔️ Commitment to training using hand signals.

✔️ A fenced yard would be helpful for housebreaking and exercise, but not required.
