Anise

Last but not least, meet Anise, the 12th of our Bakers Dozen; our hands (and hearts) are full at the moment! Flowering plant Aniseed is widely used to flavor pastries, sweets, and soothing herbal teas. Known as a natural remedy for various ailments and may reduce depression, like our quintessentially loving Cavies.

Like most of the Baker’s babies, Anise came to us extremely timid and hesitant with everyone and everything. It takes a little patience to win this girl’s trust, but she’s slowly learning that life just might be better now. Anise is a beautiful 5-year-old Tri-color munchkin that loves her mealtime. Walking on a leash is a completely new challenge, but like everything, she’s making measured progress.

Anise has found reassurance in her foster siblings, just another sign that it’s going to be okay. She’s been good at her potty breaks and after only a week has found comfort in the big bed. 

When love is this hard won, it possesses a singular gift. We know sweet Anise will return it with eternal devotion! 

🐶 Age: Anise is 5 years old.

👍🏻 Weight: 24 lbs.

🐾 Circumstances: Breeder surrender, one of the Baker’s Dozen.

🐕 Temperament: A flower beginning to bloom!

❤️ Health: Like most of our Baker’s Dozen pups, beautiful Anise was treated for fleas upon arrival. She is a sweet and shy Cavie who, when the foster mom put the leash on her harness to walk her into the office, flattened to the ground and declined to walk.  Her loving foster mom carried her in and out of the vet's office.

Anise was examined by Dr. Stephanie Diaz at Care Animal Hospital and is being treated for yeast-filled ears and hookworms. She also has periodontal disease and an umbilical hernia, which will be repaired during her spay and dental surgery. Blood was drawn for heartworm test, distemper, and parvo titers. She arrived into Rescue without medical records, so she will also need a rabies vaccination. CRF microchips all rescues.

🏡 Forever Home Requirements:

✔️ Preferably an at-home adult most of the day in a quiet home.

✔️ Fenced yard for roaming and playtime preferred. 

✔️ Another like-sized pup companion preferred. 

✔️ Particular attention and care for her nervousness.

✔️ Patience and commitment to continued training.
