Avery
Avery is 4 years old, being fostered in Sarasota and her adoption fee is $600
Avery
Age: 4 ½ years old
Weight: 25 lbs.
Circumstances: Avery came from a loving family with three active children. Her owner unselfishly gave her up because she thought that her epileptic seizures would lessen in a lower-key environment. Indeed, we’ve seen improvement in her short time with us.
Temperament: Mostly a sweetheart, the one note is that when she gets too tired, she wants to be left alone. She can be nippy if bothered then, so small children may not be ideal. This may be a side effect of her meds.
Health: Avery was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy at a young age. She has been vetted and also seen a neurologist at UF. Her epilepsy has her on a strict regimen of medications that need to be administered every six hours, without fail. A low salt diet has been recommended. She will need follow-on neurology visits twice a year for life.
Forever Home Requirements: We need a special kind of angel to take Avery, one that will remain fiercely dedicated to her somewhat demanding schedule. Besides taking meds four times a day, Avery will also drink quite a bit and needs to go out often as well. Her new home needs to understand the seizures and may need to clean her up after one. But the future looks bright for Avery and she has lots of love to share!
