Freckles

Freckles was rescued from the streets by a good Samaritan – we don’t know how long he lived on his own or what he had to do to survive. The real work of his rehabilitation and building trust with humans will come post adoption - with his forever family. Freckles displays some fear-based reactivity though he has really come a long way already. Hands and arms coming toward him can feel threatening and scary to him. He tends to resource-guard his toys and his bed.

Freckles absolutely loves to be outside and especially loves his walks. To be able to play and run around a securely fenced yard, always supervised by his pawrents (of course), would be a benefit for him. He is super-smart, has an easy-going laid-back personality, PLUS has manners at mealtimes! At bedtime he prefers to sleep in his own cozy bed but will hop-up onto the big bed for snuggle-time with his pawrents.

Freckles is just discovering how wonderful life can be and we believe he is full of potential!  It will take time for him to trust. He, along with his foster family, have begun working with a positive, force-free trainer, and it’s going very well! Continuing with these sessions will help him keep his best-paw-forward and will be incredibly rewarding for dedicated pawrents! Pet parents need to always be mindful of his cues and managing him and his environment for success.

🐾 Circumstances: Found as a stray.

🐕 Temperament: An exuberant youngster, but he has fear-based reactivity.

❤️ Health: Freckles is in good health and will be neutered next week.

🏡 Forever Home Requirements:

✔️ Work from home or retired with low alone hours.  Prior experience with a fearful, reactive dog a plus!

✔️ Fenced yard preferable

✔️ No small children 

✔️ No other pets (currently) in the home

His adoption donation fee will be $750
