Meet Best Boy Bernie, who is just so excited to meet you.  In fact, Bernie gets really excited about a LOT of things!  He’s a rough and tumble boy - happiest chasing lizards 🦎and splashing in mud puddles!  Add in belly rubs, walks, car rides, and treats, and life is so darn thrilling.  This boy’s unending enthusiasm and happiness is simply a joy to behold.

Yet, at times Bernie’s boisterous zeal can be a little much.  I mean, we get that cars should be barked at and all, so there’s times you’ll be glad for him to get tuckered out.  We’re betting he mellows a bit with age, but it almost seems he just didn’t get enough of this in his life before.

That checks as this big fun guy doesn’t seem to have had a lot of training either, though we love that he listens really well and is learning so much every day.  He really wants to please you.  Oh, and he really wants to be with you too.

He’s fine with other dogs, but not really interested that much.  He’d be fine as an only dog.  Bernie sleeps in a crate now but we’re betting he’d be a great snuggle bug in the big bed.  He loves people but seems to prefer women.  Funny Bernie also adores bath time.

❤️ Health: Bernie’s still undergoing his vetting, so we’ll know more soon, but luckily his heart is clear today.  He’s big for a Cavalier, but still needs to lose a few pounds.  CRF microchips all rescues.

🏡 Forever Home Requirements:

✔️ Preferably an at-home adult.

✔️ A fenced yard to play in is a must. 

✔️ He can be an only dog but would be fine with companions too.

✔️ A commitment to continued training.

💸 Adoption Donation: $700

🚩If you do not check ALL of the above requirements, your application will not pass the screening process for consideration. We do not compromise on these requirements as we feel they are essential to a successful adoption with Bernie.
